The group explores the ruins of lower Rathalas with Axies, eventually stumbling upon a Herald temple. Inside, they learn more about the Knight Radiants and the Day of Recreance before encountering the Grey Remnant — an unsettling spren made of living clay. To earn information, each party member confesses a personal truth. In exchange, the Remnant reveals that their quarry Ylt has sailed to the Nightwatcher's Valley, and shares lore about the Voidbringers, the Heralds' fractured mental states, and the true nature of the Recreance.

The group books passage on the Storm's Jest to give chase, but an unusual westward storm strikes mid-voyage. They fight off Skyeels — during which Tas-son-Dar swears his second Ideal — before the stormwall knocks them all unconscious. They wash up on the shores of Triax, where they help a group of humans being pursued by Singers, defeating a Stormform Regal and several Warform warriors.

A young Elsecaller named Mal Solih then appears, offering them work in Urithiru on behalf of Highlord Sebarial. In exchange for help stabilising Urithiru's trade markets, he promises to transport them near the Nightwatcher's Valley afterward. The group accepts and travels to Urithiru through Shadesmar.

There, Sebarial tasks them with investigating Highlord Sadeas' murder, which he believes is connected to the extortionist Vavanach crime family. After tracking down a family member and eventually confronting the crime lord K'mral V'lkak Vavanach himself, they discover the Vavanach weren't behind the murder but had been running, as suspected, a large extortion racket. They hand over the evidence to Sebarial, who takes Erytl Photrak on as a patron.

The session ends with a double recruitment. A mysterious woman named Axindweth gives Tas-son-Dar a device through which the Ghostblood leader Iyatl offers him membership in exchange for spying on Shallan Davar. He accepts — but when they tail Shallan, she immediately catches them out and flips the situation, offering them a counter-deal to explore Urithiru's uncharted halls and feed the Ghostbloods false information instead. Tas-son-Dar agrees, leaving the group caught between two factions.
